Rule to check localization in .cs and .aspx files

Oct 20, 2010 at 11:39 AM

Hello All,

Is there any rule available to check localization in .cs file, using StyleCop?

As far as stylecop is concern it checks only on C# code. is there any way around to check for .aspx files to check for localization.

Thanks N Regards,

To my knowledge, StyleCop doesn't do anything with .aspx files.  "aspx" does not show up in search in the solution.  That said, this is open source so if one adds a feature request issue added to the issue tracker and an individual is interested enough in making it happen...

Could you please specify in a more detailed way, what do you mean by "check localization in .cs file"?

Hi Shuruev,

My requirement towards localization checking was against ".aspx" files, i.e where ever i use Lables, Buttons or other aspx controls, in that i wanted to check whether TEXT given to a particular control is hard coded or is retrieved from resource file (.resx).

As StyleCop runs only on C# code, but my requirement is on .aspx files. Is there anyway round to check .aspx files for this localization checking?

Thanks N Regards,

Hi,

Seems that current StyleCop version can not do this.
