StyleCop 4.6.3.0 Doesn't integrate with ReSharper 6.1.37.86

Jan 19, 2012 at 11:20 PM

Hi,

I have Visual Studio 2010 SP1. I had ReSharper 6.1.37.86 installed with StyleCop 4.6.3.0 working just fine, but stupidly installed the upgrade to 4.7 without realizing that it is not compatible with R# 6.1.37.86.

Uninstalled StyleCop 4.7 and re-installed 4.6. Now ReSharper doesn't pick up the StyleCop 4.6 plugin. Digging into the menu

ReSharper > Options > Plugins

only shows "There are no plugins to show in this view"

Opening code, i see that although ReSharper is working properly i have no StyleCop hints popping up on the left hand side as would normally be the case.

I am however able to run StyleCop through the menu

Tools > Run StyleCop

Any ideas how to get this working as it was before?

StyleCop 4.7.7.0 does.

Not for me. Installed StyleCop 4.7.7.0 with ReSharper 6.1.37.86, and nothing worked like it used to with StyleCop 4.6.3.0 and ReSharper 6.0. Various combinations of installing/uninstalling didn't help. Anyone else experiencing issues with StyleCop 4.7.7.0 and ReSharper 6.1.37.86?

Hi
Can you run an install using Msiexec and email me the log file please?

I am having a similar problem with different builds.  I had uninstalled Resharper and StyleCop, and now I can't get StyleCop to install the Resharper plugin.

Was working:  VS11 + ReSharper 6.1.38.146 + StyleCop 4.7.6.0

Not working: VS11 + ReSharper 6.1.42.60 + StyleCop 4.7.8.0

Do you have vs10 installed also?

Yes I do.  I can send you the log from running the msi with all logging turned on. Let me know where to send it, if that would help you.

I should point out that I did not install R# for VS10.  I only ran the vsix for VS11.

Sent.

By the way, I got it to install correctly after installing ReSharper for VS10 using the ReSharper msi.  It did not work if I only ran the vsix for VS11.

Thanks Jay. 4.7.9.0 install works for VS11 using just the vsix now.
