I have recently updated to visual studio update 2rc (and .net framework 4.5.2, though stylecop wasn't working before I installed the new framework). Just wanted to check whether stylecop works with VS update 2rc?

The error is: when pressing alt+enter to say insert a heading for example, I get a message that says "failed to modify the documents". And I was just wondering whether stypecop supported VS update 2rc. I have uninstalled stylecop and reinstalled and makes no difference.

Thanks

Update, found this https://stylecop.codeplex.com/discussions/539725, but has not resolved my issue.

95% of the time Failed to modify documents means your Source Control inside Visual Studio is locking the file. The only work-around at present is to go to Tools > Options > Source Control and set the Source Control Provider to None temporarily. ReSharper commands have the same issue.

I've used the Update 2 RC and Update 2 release with StyleCop 4.7.49 and it's been working.

Hi

Thanks for that, I stumbled across an article that said that it is the Microsoft Git Provider, I checked my settings and sure enough it was set to that, which was odd as I use TFS. anyway setting it back to TFS solved the problem. There is a registry hack to remove the Microsoft Git Provider as this appears to be the cause of the fault.
