I also use 7.1.3000 and it partially works fine.
But there are a bunch of issues. Formating doesn´t work most of the time, sorting of usings
doesn´t work (only if there are System.xxx only).

It would be cool if there was an update soon :)
Can you help me?
On my box I get consistent crash on 'Go to issue via double click' and I get often crashes on ''run StyleCop on project'.
Comments: I am running into this same problem. Visual Studio is becoming unusable due to StyleCop crashing it. This appears to be caused by having a local stylecop settings file that has "merge with the following settings file" selected and pointing to a file not in a parent directory. If I manually copy the configuration everywhere, I don't get as many crashes -- but then I have to manually update a dozen copies of the same file because TFS doesn't understand how to make a link.

New Post: Can StyleCop warnings be turned off per solution/local machine?

To turn off StyleCop at solution level:

Create(or copy an existing) a setting file 'Settings.StyleCop' in the root directory containing the *.sln file.

Add the below xml and save:

<StyleCopSettings Version="105">

    <BooleanProperty Name="RulesEnabledByDefault">False</BooleanProperty>
  </GlobalSettings>
</StyleCopSettings>

Done.
The project has a ReSharper plugin that enables "quick-fixes" for the rule violations and provides in-line highlighting of violations as you type. If you do not have ReSharper installed it will detect this and not deploy it to your machine.

However StyleCop is greatly enhanced with ReSharper installed and will save you a LOT of time fixing your violations and IMO is well worth the licence fee.
It cannot be added at each level of the folder tree. As such, the links only work for files in the root of the C# project. Spell checking in subfolders ignores the linked custom dictionary, resulting in large numbers of static analysis warnings.

Commented Issue: Custom dictionary relative path [7435]

Is it possible to change the custom dictionary relative path to be relative to the settings file rather than the file currently being analysed? I presume that if this change were made, the current behaviour could be recreated by placing a settings file into the appropriate subfolder.

I suspect that in general there would be a single custom dictionary per solution, and a relative path could become tedious if its based off the analysed file.

cf: http://stylecop.codeplex.com/workitem/7422

Thanks.
Comments: Prior to StyleCop 4.7.44, we were able to use "Add As Link" feature of Visual Studio to have just one CustomDictionary.xml file that was shared by multiple C# projects.

This process is described at [MSDN: How to: Customize the Code Analysis Dictionary
](http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb514188(v=vs.100).aspx) in the section near the bottom titled "To apply a custom dictionary to a project".

Most Relevant Excerpt: "3.To add a dictionary that is shared among two or more projects, locate the file to share in the Add Existing Item dialog box, click the down arrow on the Add button and then click Add As Link."

This no longer works in StyleCop 4.7.44.

New Post: Custom add-in paths

Ah, that might be it.
